Welcome to my confessions! I haven't done a Confessions Tuesday post in a while, not because I haven't needed to, believe me, but because I felt like weight loss was all that I was blogging about, and on my family blog. But you know what, oh well. Weight loss is what is on my mind right now, and if that's what I want to talk about, it's what I'm going to talk about.I have done really well on the working out front this week. We (meaning myself, hubby, Ethan, and sometimes my parents) have played tennis (or tried to, we aren't very good!), or we go ride our bikes (hubby, Ethan and I typically go up this hill over by our house, and I use that as a warm up, and then hubs goes back with Ethan and rides or plays around our neighborhood, and I do about an hour long ride (typically 7 to 8 miles). This weekend, I even mowed our front and back yard (with a push mower), and weeded the garden (which was completely overrun, considering we've had more rain in the past week than we had all month of July (and possibly June!). On Sunday, Jerrod and I rode bikes over to my mom and dads house, which seemed quite a bit further than it really is, I think because the ride is mainly consistently uphill. After we got there, I mowed dad's inner backyard (again with the push mower). So, really, like I said, working out has been good. And really, I'm starting to enjoy it, and dare I say, crave it. I have never felt like this before in my life. I despised working out, and would rather read or play with Ethan, or hell, clean the house, before I would work out. And now, I'm finding myself planning my workouts like I would plan my meals. It's kind of a refreshing change.
However, on the other hand, the food front hasn't been as great. We've cut back on the eating out, which is helping, but Ethan wanted to make brownies, and that wasn't the best thing to have around my house. Normally, I have a pretty high will-power, but I'm not sure if it was an off day or not, but I ended up eating three (3!) brownies. Last night, we had some leftover, but hubby promised those to Ethan (thank God!!), so I ended up making myself some healthy ice cream.
Healthy Ice Cream?! Yep, and really, you can do it with one ingredient! I found it on Pinterest (surprise, surprise), and made it and it's totally super easy.
Basically, you take bananas, and slice them, then freeze for a little bit (minimum of at least an hour, preferably two). Then you take the bananas out and put them in your food processor (you can use a blender, but it's not as easy), and chop, chop, chop. They will initially turn gravelly looking, but keep blending, and it will get to the consistency of soft serve ice cream. If you want, you can add some peanut butter and / or cocoa, to give a little less banana flavor, or last night, I added strawberries to mine and it was totally yummy!
Now, I just have to go buy more bananas!!
