with the Sisterhood!
After I wrote my weight / exercise post yesterday, I was doing a little more research on the Couch to 5K (C25K) program and I came across this article at the Sisterhood. I read that, and was hooked, and started looking at other things around their site. I even joined the 'Hood, which is their forum to talk about struggles, successes, and everything in between.
I came across a Summer challenge that they were just beginning to start. I hesitated, because thoughts of I'm just starting. What if I let others down? What if it's too hard? What if I fail? were running through my head. Finally, I went ahead and jumped in.
The premise of this is an 11 week journey, June 15th - August 31st. You check in every Wednesday, and they calculate (by percentage) weight loss of people that are trying to lose weight (some people just do this because they love to exercise - imagine that!). They put up a leaderboard on Thursdays, and everyone tries there hardest. Within this challenge, they have mini-challenges, and they are also doing a 6-week online bootcamp! As difficult as this might be for me, I know that I'm making the right choice.
With that, my starting weight is ... 192 pounds. Sigh, I have a lot of work to do.
The mini-challenge this week is hydration. I didn't see a goal in the challenge, so, I'm going to set my own. My goal is to drink 72 ounces of water each day for the next week. I'm even going to go one step further and eliminate all pop (yes, even diet!).

YAY so glad you decided to jump in. SJ is an awesome place. I too have been doing C25K off an on, this week it's on LOL! I can't wait to see how you progress through out the challenge. Good Luck!

Hooray for joining! I remember being hesitant with my first SJ challenge too. You will not regret your choice.
Good luck with the C25k! Oh and eliminating soda can be done, just take it slow especially if you drink a lot of it.
Welcome to the hood! This is a great group to motivate and encourage you. I completed the C25K and loved it. I'm a "wogger" now because I'm to slow to call it jogging. I wish you luck cutting back on that soda...Diet Dr Pepper is my weakness and it's hard to stay away from!
I am SO glad you are joining us- you will not regret it! You'll get out as much as you put in with the challenges so GO FOR IT!

Hi, Rachel! Welcome to Shrinking Jeans - so glad you decided to jump in with us. You have a lot of "what ifs" -- let me assure you, we ALL have those same thoughts. But the camaraderie you'll find at SJ, and especially among your teammates, is exactly what makes the difference.
