Right now, I'm baking banana bread. I overfilled the pan, so it probably won't look very pretty. However, I did realize that I overfilled it, and was smart enough to put a baking sheet underneath it, so at least my oven won't get too dirty (not like I would actually clean it or anything).

Jerrod is out of town right now. That makes me sad. I miss my husband. Ethan misses his daddy. However, this is good for us as a family, because it means that Jerrod will have a better job and will be able to spend more time with us. It just sucks while he is training, and he will be training for approximately 30 out of the next 60 days (not counting travel days).

Funny Ethan story from this morning. Since Jerrod is gone, I have to get Ethan up and take him to daycare before I go to work at 8am. This morning, I woke him up, laid some clothes on his bed and told him to get dressed. (I was running a little late.) He starts crying, and this is the conversation that we had:
Me: Ethan, what's wrong?? Why are you crying?
Ethan: I thought that I staying here today.
Me: No, momma has to go to work, which means that you get to go to Ms. D's (daycare). Who is going to take care of you while momma is at work if you stay here?
Ethan: Me. I take care of me.
Me: What happens when you get hungry for lunch?
Ethan: I will just make me some lunch.
Me: But Ethan, you can't reach the microwave.
Ethan: *sighs* I not gonna make me macaroni-n-cheese with hot gogs momma.
Me: Well, what would you make?
Ethan: I make me a peanut butter & jelly sanmwich.
Me: Can you reach the peanut butter, Ethan?
Ethan: hmm, no. I guess it just be jelly then.
*Sigh* to be a 4 year old again, and have an answer for everything!!

I need to get pictures on my computer from vacation. We've been back for about two weeks, and I haven't even spoken about it!! So bad! It was amazing. The wedding was small, heartfelt, and gorgeous. My cousin (the bride) made and decorated her own cake, and it was delicious. It was wonderful getting to see family that I haven't seen in almost 10 years. It was awesome to let them meet my husband and my son. And Ethan was very well behaved for the flight and long drive there. It is sad though, that a 90 mile drive, from Richmond to Virginia Beach, would take 3 1/2 hours!! And that is shorter, due to my uncle telling us to get off the road that we were on, and to take another route! We left the airport at 3:30, and didn't get to my uncle's house until about 8pm!

Ethan absolutely loved the beach, until he got deeper in the water. Then he just wanted to play in the sand.
~~~
It was magical to see the beach through a four-year old's eyes. Before we went over the bridge and through the tunnel, we stopped off at the bay for dad to smoke and bathroom breaks. Mom and I decided to walk down to the "beach" (it's technically a beach, but it isn't the ocean, it's the Chesapeake (I think) Bay), and let Ethan get his feet wet. He loved it, and was amazed at all the water.
~~~
I can't think of anything else to say, but thinking and talking about the beach has made me what to download pictures. But, I think I'll have a piece of banana bread and head to bed instead.
